About Shallow Water Marine

Shallow Water Marine has evolved from a labor of love. We are life long waterfowl hunters and outdoorsman. Being avid waterfowlers, we of course, have had our share of duck boats through the years. About 12 years ago we were approached by an individual to build a custom boat duck blind for hire. Seeing an opportunity to take the sport a step further, and to make a little traveling money, we said yes. Since then, we have built dozens of custom duck blinds on a wide variety of duck boats. All our work has come to us by word of mouth from satisfied customers. We are now building more duck blinds than ever, but each is a custom fit, built one at a time, to the customer's specs. All our duck blinds are welded aluminum framed and sheeted. We can add as many or as little extras according to what the customer requests. All of our duck blinds offer complete comfort, but remain extremely functional.

In the summer of 2005 we decided to take our "side" business one step further by becoming the Iowa dealer for Gator-Tail Outboards. We had run one the previous season and the performance and durability was second to none. Kyle Broussard the founder of Gator-Tail developed the original belt driven surface drive outboard. Gator-Tail then developed a reverse for these outboards. This is the most functional and easiest reverse on the market and still remains un-matched. We now have three seasons running Gator-Tails, and are still impressed and amazed at the durability and punishment these outboards can take. Their boats are of the best quality as well.

With fuel prices soaring and the cost of shipping going through the roof we decided it was time to look for a duck boat manufacturer a bit closer to home. We had a difficult time finding a manufacturer that made duck boats of the quality and durability that we would want to own and represent. Eventually we found Tim Scott and Excel boats. In the winter of 2006 we signed on with Excel and have been pleased ever since. Excel makes the most durable and functional boat that we have seen with an outstanding fit and finish. We originally got on board to offer a duck boat specifically designed for the surface drive mud motor application, but soon realized Excel boats were much more than just a mud boat manufacturer. They offer a complete line of custom boats for about any application.

Our latest addition to the products we represent is Mud Buddy. The Mud Buddy backwater motors and accessories are of the highest quality. Mud Buddy is a well established company and has been manufacturing mud motors for a very long time now. They have a great reputation of ingenuity and standing behind their products. Mud Buddy has an extensive product line to cover about any application the customers would have. Mud Buddy also makes and extensive line of duck boat and duck hunting accessories for a reasonable price. The quality of these items is second to none.
