Shallow Water Marine has evolved from our love for constructing custom duck
blinds. We began building custom blinds more than a decade ago. Through
the years we have built dozens on many different brands and styles of duck
boats. Each blind is a unique custom duck build to the customer's specifications.
Yes, we have suggestions and a basic design to build from, but the actual
dimensions and accessories are to the customer's specs. We believe this
is what sets us apart from the competition; we strive to accommodate the
customer, and work one on one to come up with the very best design to meet
the customer's needs. At Shallow Water Marine, no job is too big or too
small for us, when it comes to meeting the customer's expectations.
Shallow Water Marine will build custom duck blinds on most any boat.
We routinely build on new boats, but many times the customer already has
a boat and is simply upgrading their duck blind. We do plenty of these types
of rigs. We have built duck blinds on pumpkin seed style duck boats, V-bottom
boats, 6 degree semi-V Jon boats and of course, many of the standard Jons.
We build duck blinds to accommodate remote steering and controls as well
as tillers outboards and mud motors. In the last couple years we are building
more duck blinds on mud rigs and have handled the problems of the steering
constraints a mud motor requires and of course, the weight constraints of
a mud motor rig. We have done this without compromising strength and structural
integrity and we have kept the weight down to around 160 pounds for the
typical 17 to 18 foot mud duck boat blind.
Shallow Water Marine duck blinds are constructed completely from high quality
aluminum alloys. We frame the duck blinds with various sizes and gauges
of aluminum tubing depending on the application. We then sheet the duck
blind with aluminum sheeting of varying thicknesses, again depending on
the application. We offer interlocking lids and spacers creating a walk
through duck blind with the ability to be closed in to cover the shooting
slot. We have found this to very helpful in fooling the ducks.
Each of these lids is made from aluminum sheeting and broke and reinforced
for structural integrity. We also offer a complete splash well and door
system at the transom, completely isolating the interior of the duck blind
from the outside. This essentially makes it impossible to get water over
the transom and into the duck boat when launching from very steep or primitive
ramps. Shallow Water Marine duck blinds also offer a driving or Helm area.
We simply incorporate a hinged driving hatch above the council and steering
and incorporate it into our lid and spacer system. This allows the driver
to position himself behind the helm as one would normally do when driving
a boat. With one of our duck blinds there is no need to stand while driving
or reach for the controls. Everything is right there for ease of use. We
are lucky to have an in-house electrician with over 25 years experience
as a Journeyman electrician. Needless to say, the wiring packages we offer
are second to none. Some of the options available are; radios, interior
lights, bilge pump, gauges, cellinoid to isolate batteries, navigation lights,
recessed driving lights, switches,
fuse and/or breaker panels, and much more. All are wiring is housed in aluminum
conduit or framing. When we are complete, there is no exposed wiring. We
also offer to paint our duck blinds. We take the very best care to prep
our aluminum properly! We acid etch prime and paint the surface with a high
quality OD paint. We even offer a marsh grass camouflage paint scheme.
Shallow Water Marine aims to please. We can construct as much, or as little
for you. Many times the customer will come to us and request a basic duck
blind constructed. The customer then takes it from there. Yes, we like to
see the duck blinds to absolute completion. We also understand, not everyone
can afford to have us build the entire duck blind, start to finish. For
those who are a bit more price conscious and have some mechanical skills,
we can help you out as well.
At Shallow Water Marine we sell duck boats and outboards also, but building
duck blinds is where it all began. We take a great deal of pride and enjoyment
in dealing with the customer on an individual basis to come up with a duck
blind to meet their specific needs. We have duck blinds out there from more
than a decade ago. Our duck blinds will provide for many years of enjoyment
on the water. Come see us, or give us a call or email
for estimates and to discuss your particular needs. |
